Legal framework

Denmark's development assistance is laid down and administered on the basis of the Danish Act on International Development Cooperation (Consolidated Act no. 541 of 10/07/1998). (Note: link is in Danish)

In 2002 the Folketing (Danish Parliament) adopted two supplementary Acts:

• Act to Amend the Foreign Service Act and the Danish Act on International Development Cooperation (Act no. 410 of 06/06/2002). (Note: link is in Danish)
• Act to Establish the Danish Centre for International Studies and Human Rights (Act no. 411 of 06/06/2002). (Note: link is in Danish)

In 2006 the Folketing adopted another supplementary Act:

• Act to Amend the Danish Act on International Development Cooperation (Abolition of the Council for Development Research). (Act no. 85 of 14/02/2006). (Note: link is in Danish)
