Danida Business Partnerships is a facility within the Danish development cooperation which provides financial support for the preparation and implementation of commercially oriented partnerships between Danish companies and a wide array of local partners in order to mitigate some of the risks inherent to the pursuit of new business opportunities in developing countries.
Danida Business Partnerships focuses on transfer of knowhow and technology from Danish companies to local partners such as companies, civil society organisations or local authorities.
The objective of Danida Business Partnerships is to create jobs, strengthen competitiveness and promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) in developing countries. In return, Danish companies are presented with new markets, opportunities for cost savings and improved access to raw materials.
Danida Business Partnership supports partnerships in all socalled Danida Priority Countries where the political and economic context allows for commercial cooperation, and where Danida has representation and capacity to support partnerships.

The Danish Embassy in Kathmandu will during the first week of March arrange in cooperation with Danida Business Partnerships and the Danish Federation of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises a delegation trip to Nepal focusing on crafts, tourism, agriculture & food along with IT.
Nepal is one of the new growth markets with positive growth rates; a growing local demand; low labor costs; unique products and a strategic location when it comes to accessing other Asian export markets.
The delegation trip will give Danish companies a chance to investigate opportunities for developing partnerships with local businesses. The participants’ wishes and requirements for local partners will enable the identification of relevant contacts thereby ensuring a tailored plan of action for each participating company.
The delegation will focus on sectors such as craft, tourism, IT along with agriculture & food. These sectors have great prospects and exhibit good business opportunities for Danish companies. The Embassy has identified possible partners, all with strong business potential in the above mentioned sectors, and who are expressing a wish to meet with Danish companies for joint business development.
The delegation will depart on Saturday 1st of March and return on Friday 7th of March. It is possible to apply for a 75% reimbursement for travel expenses from the Danida Business Partnership programme, provided that the company fulfils the programme requirements.
