Danish humanitarian assistance covers several cross-cutting issues and topics. Particularly three topics mark the Danish humanitarian agenda: Risk management, gender and monitoring.
An international conference on ‘Results, risk assessment and -management in development cooperation' took place in Copenhagen on 25-26 November, 2010. Since then the work on risk management has gathered speed.
Furthermore, in relation to the Strategy for Danish Humanitarian Action gender sensitive approaches and women's empowerment are particularly prioritized.
I addition, the Danish humanitarian assistance focus on supporting organisations in developing monitoring and reporting systems that to the greatest extent possible are participatory and inclusive in approach.
