Minor research studies
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides support to minor research studies.
Minor research study activities are supported with a view to strengthening the quality of Danish development cooperation. The research activity which is typically of shorter duration, is conducted by Danish or foreign researchers and typically revolves around current development policy issues. TAS (Technical Advisory Services) is responsible for the overall administration based on applications from Danish embassies and units in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2012 there was a total approval of DKK 9 mio., which was distributed among 10 different minor studies.
The links on the right side of this page contain references to the recent minor studies carried out from 2010 til now financed by The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Through development research, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports three centres under the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, and a concluding performance contract for a total of DKK 36 million has been entered for 2011-2012.Capacity building and dissemination are key elements in the support for the three centres. Through their work the centres have enhanced the scientific environment and the ability to compete, and they are part of both national and international contexts. The embedment of the centres in the university environment and their contribution to teaching create better links between research and teaching. The centres are the three following:
