The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the pleasure of inviting to a conference on 'The Future Foreign Service' hosted by the Danish Foreign Minister and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 27, 2017.
The Future Foreign Service Conference is part of an ongoing, highly prioritized, innovation process in the Danish Foreign Ministry. The event will serve as a platform to discuss topics such as the future role of the Foreign Service, challenges and opportunities, modernization and smarter use of resources. Flexibility, efficiency, innovation – as well as disruption and digitalization – will be among the key words.
The conference will have a twofold purpose: An outward-looking focus on expectations for the future role of the Foreign Service among stakeholders and external partners (the ‘what’), and an inward-looking focus on work flows and instruments (the ‘how’). Our ambitions for the conference are high: We aim to set new standards for at constructive, critical, and open dialogues with external partners – and to be inspired by new proposals for initiatives, focus areas, and working methods.
The plenary session of the conference, which includes 3 thematic panels, will take place on Friday, January 27 and will be opened by Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen. The conference venue is Eigtveds Pakhus, Asiatisk Plads, 1448 Copenhagen.
