In the first half of 2012, Denmark will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It is the seventh time Denmark holds the EU Presidency since joining the European Community in 1973.

The Danish EU Presidency in 2012 will be a major task for the Danish government involving all ministries. To handle this task a central logistics and communication unit has been established in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
