There are special rules in force for documents that are issued and signed by private individuals and companies, e.g. powers of attorney, declarations, contracts, invitations.
If a document is signed by a private individual, the person’s signature must be legalised by a Notary Public before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can legalise it. There are addresses of Danish court registries to which Notaries Public belong at www.domstol.dk.
Documents issued and signed by private companies can also be legalised by the Danish Chamber of Commerce (Dansk Erhverv) or the Confederation of Danish Industry before legalisation takes place at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. See Export documents for addresses of chambers of commerce.
