Building Capacity of the Government of Ethiopia within Renewable Energy, in Particular Wind - Ethiopia

Objective and scope: The Embassy of Denmark in Ethiopia wishes to engage a consultancy company to identify and explore possibilities for, and formulate, a capacity building programme to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Ethiopia – the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity (MoWIE) and Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) – in close cooperation with relevant Ethiopian authorities. Funds for the programme are from the Danish Climate Envelope. The aim is among other things to build capacity to develop concrete bankable investment proposals, to increase diversified renewable energy production, transmission, and management of mixed energy souces, with a particular focus on wind.

Expertise required:
 It is foreseen that the consultancy team should be comprised of two team members with extensive working experience in the area of Green Growth with a focus on renewable energy project development, in particular wind: One team member with a focus on technical issues, including the management of mixed energy sources, and one team member with a focus on organisational development and systems of energy sector institutions.

Estimated budget and timing: The identification and formulation processes will take place before 1 August 2016. The number of hours assigned to the task is app. 475 with a total budget of DKK 575,000.
