Open procedure: Mapping of Geothermal Potential, Northern Mozambique

Description:
Northern Mozambique is located on the brink of the East African Rift, which is known for its geothermal potential. The study will carry out geological, geophysical and
geochemical examination of areas with signs of geothermal activity.

In accordance with best practice guidelines for geothermal exploration, the study includes:

I. A field study, collecting new geological (1) and geochemical (2) data for analysis.

II. A geophysical survey (3) to confirm, estimate and map the exact location and potential of the resource.

The expected outcome will be the localization, mapping, estimating and verification of the geothermal resource’s potential for generating affordable renewable electricity, which could help to lay the ground work for a power plant.

Maximum Budget DKK 950,000
