Open procedure - Bangladesh Green Growth Study

11 January 2020, at 12:00 Danish time

The Royal Danish Embassy (RDE) in Bangladesh has recently initiated
the process of conceptualising and designing a new Bangladesh Strategic
Framework (BSF) for the period 2021-2026. It is envisaged that Denmark’s partnership
with Bangladesh will focus on ensuring that Bangladesh’s growth becomes more
green, more inclusive and more socially responsible.

To this end, the BSF will draw on a wide variety of Danish
foreign policy instruments, including diplomacy/policy dialogue, development
cooperation, multilateral cooperation, commercial relations, strategic sector
cooperation, Danida Business Finance/Investment Fund for Developing Countries
(IFU) and the Danish Export Credit Facility (EKF).

Specifically in relation to Green Growth and commercial relations between Denmark and
Bangladesh, the RDE wishes to engage an international consultancy to assist in
its work to ensure that the BSF fully captures the Danish foreign policy
ambitions as set out in the above.

The consultancy should identify, map and analyse priority Green
Growth needs and demands in Bangladesh. Based on this study, the consultancy should
suggest and recommend specific strategic focus areas for strengthening and
deepening commercial relations between Denmark and Bangladesh. Also, the consultancy
should provide specific recommendations on how to best match identified Bangladeshis
needs/demands and specific Danish Green Growth solutions and know-how.

Although the focus of the study should be on how commercial
relations between Denmark and Bangladesh can be made more green in support of
Danish and Bangladeshi political climate change priorities, the study should
also look at how other Danish foreign policy instruments (development
cooperation, diplomacy, strategic sector cooperation etc.) can support the greening
of the commercial relations.
