On 7 February, 2021, the Danish Government submitted a legislative bill currently under consideration by the Danish Parliament to include, on a voluntary basis, staff at Diplomatic Missions, International Organizations and Other Missions, with their family members residing in Denmark, from other countries than the EU and Nordic countries, in the Danish COVID-19 vaccination plan.

The legislative bill pertains to persons with temporary residence (currently residing in or planning to reside in Denmark) who do not have access to the COVID-19 vaccination pursuant to other legislation (e.g. EU law).

In accordance with the proposed legislation, the COVID-19 vaccination will be offered in keeping with the Danish Health Authority’s prioritized target groups of Danish Citizens and on the same terms, meaning that vaccination will be voluntary and free of charge. If adopted, the legislation will enter into force on 1 March, 2021.

The Danish Health Authorities will provide further information as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Protocol Department, takes this opportunity to renew to all Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to and resident in Denmark and to International Organizations and Other Missions resident in Copenhagen the assurances of its highest consideration.
