The Danish Humanitarian Contact Group

The Humanitarian Contact Group was established in 1995.

The aim of the Humanitarian Contact Group is to strengthen the cooporation between Humanitarian NGO's (such as DanChurchAid and Danish Red Cross) and Humanitarian Governmental organisations (for example Danida and the Danish Emergency Management Agency).

The Contact Group is a forum for exchanging information regarding ongoing and coming humanitarian activities, preventive and follow up activities. It is also a forum for discussing Danish and international humanitarian action and actors.

When a disaster strikes the group is used to ensure an effective and coordinated humanitarian response.
