2007.04 Impact Evaluation of Hima, Tanzania

The evaluation has assessed the impact on livelihoods, poverty, soil and water conservation, agriculture, forestry practices, village government, women’s empowerment, and governmental institutional strengthening in the areas of the HIMA-project in the Iringa Region, Tanzania. The evaluation focuses on the impact of the long-term assistance to the Danish supported programme concentrating on the interventions carried out during 1995-2002, and identifies lessons learned that can be used in agricultural sector programmes and in natural resource management activities.

The evaluation was carried out in 2006-07 by a consortium consisting of Orbicon A/S from Denmark and Goss Gilroy Inc. from Canada.
