Danish candidate withdraws from OECD race

09.02.2021  16:01
Following consultations between OECD Member States, the Danish candidate for OECD Secretary-General, Ulrik V. Knudsen, today has decided to withdraw his candidature. Ulrik V. Knudsen says:
“It has been a privilege and an honor for me to take part in the selection process. I want to thank not only my own Government but also Member States more widely for their trust and support in advancing my candidature to the last rounds – not least given the impressive competition. The future of the OECD looks very bright and promising indeed when you consider the outstanding quality of the remaining candidates. I look forward to assisting the next Secretary-General in the management transition – and to continuing to proudly serve the OECD as Deputy Secretary-General.”
