Message from the Consul on Schengen visas to Denmark

It is with concern that we observe an increasing number of Schengen visa applications for Denmark with fraudulent hotel reservations, fraudulent travel medical insurances, and fraudulent flight itineraries prepared by travel agents. Even experienced and wealthy travellers with previous travel history to Schengen are submitting fraudulent documents. Therefore, we are forced to refuse these visa applications. 

Here are some examples:

• Hotel reservation QR code refers to different person/wrong country/wrong date. 
• Hotel reservation was never made by the travel agent or was cancelled before the application reach us.
• Flight itinerary with non-existing flight numbers.
• Travel medical insurance with QR code referring to a different person.

We strongly advice visa applicants not to use these travel agents and homepages offering ‘dummy air tickets’. 
Even though travel agents may assist in preparing visa applications, you are responsible for all documents handed in and signing the visa application form, which states that any false statements will lead to a refusal of a visa application. It is your responsibility to check the documents are genuine and accurate.
