Notice on the Legalisation or Apostille of Documents

With the entry into force of the Apostille Convention for the Philippines on 14 May 2019, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will issue an Apostille instead of an Authentication Certificate as proof of authentication of public documents for use abroad.

The embassy / consulates do not issue apostille / legalisation of Philippine or Danish documents nor do we arrange in sending the documents for apostille.

Legalisation of Danish documents

When a Danish document is to be used by a Philippine authority, it is required that the original document has been legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UM) in Copenhagen. Please click Legalisation (Apostille) (um.dk) for more information.

Documents with apostille/authentication from the DFA or UM do not need additional confirmation or certification from the embassy or consulates.
