Japan-Denmark FOOD Webinar on Dec. 6th, 2022 (Tue) from 17:00 (JPN)/ 09:00 (DK)

«Plant Based Food and Ingredients»

~ Solutions for the future food & how Denmark is driving the trend ~

The seminar puts focus on technology-enabled alternative proteins as a solution. Studies have shown that plant-based protein crops can reduce the concentration of animal farming as well as significantly reduce resource consumption and greenhouse gas emissions that impact the global environment. It is confirmed that the production of plant-based foods can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, land use and water use up to 99 pct. In addition, it can also reduce carbon emissions by upgrading recycling components and reusing flow-measuring materials as well as by using sustainable packaging, renewable energy, and efficient transport.

Denmark, being a frontrunner in green technology, has been working hard on alternatives to animal farming to gain the necessary protein consumption. For decades, Denmark has explored plant-based protein solutions promoting the development and production of plant-based foods to change the diet of consumers to enhance the green transformation of the food industry. The Danish Government has announced funding of more than €168 million to promote the development of plant-based foods corresponding to the largest investment in plant-based R&D of any European country. Given the strong support from the Danish government, Danish enterprises within the field of plant-based protein products have also continued to achieve rewarding outcomes and results.

The workshop aims to promote the concept and technology exchange between Danish and Japanese firms and institutions focusing on plant-based protein. The workshop will function as a platform to provide valuable insights and knowledge-sharing between both sides in seeking solutions and high-quality professional exchanges.
