Once again this year the Royal Danish Embassy will open its gates and invite you to join us for Danish Embassy Open Days as part of the Sarugaku Matsuri Festival. Our two-day festival will be a celebration of Danish design, innovation and gastronomy, where you will experience the Danish way of life.
Come and enjoy a diverse selection of Danish food and beverages, including seafood from Royal Greenland, cheese from Thise, butter cookies from Juno the Bakery, beer from Carlsberg, cherry wine and juice from Frederiksdal, honey based liqueurs and honey from Din Likør, and fruit spirits and liqueurs from TONOW. And, of course, the crowd-favourite “Pølsevogn” will return, serving Danish hot dogs with sausages from Danish Crown and bread from Andersen Bakery.
Explore Danish design, creativity and craftsmanship throughout the Embassy. Children can get creative with LEGO, while VELUX showcases its iconic window solutions and 3daysofdesign presents an exhibition highlighting Danish design across different fields and formats. Visitors can also explore the craftsmanship of Bang & Olufsen through a hands-on workshop, where they can create their own handmade speaker.
Inside the Ambassador’s Residence, visitors can experience exhibitions by Royal Copenhagen and Gry & Sif, while a temporary art installation by Danish artist Jens Settergren will be on display in the Residence Garden.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can also take part in cultural activities, including creating traditional Danish smørrebrød in a friendly competition under guidance by the Ambassador’s Executive Chef.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Registration is required. Entrance fee: JPY 500
