The Ambassador's Welcome

For more than 30 years, Denmark and Croatia have built a close and friendly relationship. Today, our two countries are connected by strong and growing ties between our people, businesses, institutions and communities.

Our partnership has developed across many areas. As members of the European Union, NATO and the Council of Europe, Denmark and Croatia work closely together on issues that matter to both our countries and to Europe as a whole. But the strength of our relationship goes well beyond our cooperation in European and transatlantic organisations.

What makes the relationship between Denmark and Croatia special is the breadth of the connections between our societies. Danish and Croatian businesses are building new partnerships, our institutions and universities are exchanging knowledge and experience, and our cultural and personal connections continue to grow. These links create a solid foundation for an even closer partnership in the years ahead.

My ambition for the Embassy is to be a platform for these connections – a place for dialogue, cooperation and shared ideas and values, and a place where Danes and Croats can meet and discover new opportunities to work together. During my time in Croatia, I look forward to getting to know people and communities across the country and to strengthening the many relationships that bring our two countries closer.

A special priority is of course our economic partnership. We work to strengthen cooperation between Danish and Croatian businesses, promote trade and investment, and create opportunities for growth in areas where our countries have much to offer one another. From Zagreb, we also promote Danish commercial interests in Albania and Kosovo and stand ready to support Danish companies exploring opportunities in these markets.
