Danish energy efficiency for Moldovan homes

Moldovan homeowners can benefit from Danish energy efficiency

170 participants attended the first Forum of Homeowners Associations. The purpose: to find ways to improve energy efficiency, saving both energy and money and improving the value of their property.

“Just by retrofitting a building with insulation and efficient windows and doors, energy consumption can be reduced with more than 30%,” Ambassador Jensen explained at the opening of the event. “Danish companies have the experience and know-how to make these improvements work.” Later, Ms. Holm from the Danish Energy Agency shared in more detail Denmark’s experience in improving energy performance in residential buildings.

The event was organized to inform Moldovan homeowners and was sponsored by Denmark in partnership with UNDP Moldova and the Centrul Național pentru Energie Durabilă. It will be followed by training programs in Chisinau, Balti, Cahul, Ungheni and Ialoveni to equip homeowners with skills to access financial assistance, manage projects and engage in energy-efficient renovations.
