The event drew inspiration from the Danish Festival Don't Fear The Weird and from its organizer Caroline Osander.
“We need to talk about how we avoid the taboos, the implicit shaming, the ostracizing of individuals in our community,” said Ambassador Jensen. “We need better understanding, acceptance and support so neurodivergent people can contribute to society. If not, we lose valuable potential and the right of all people to pursue a good life.”
The festival celebrated neurodivergence by bringing together voices, stories and art to show what mental health really looks like. In addition to films and workshops about stereotypes and stigma, the festival had a performance of the Danish-Moldovan Free Spirit Organ Trio.
Thank you to Caroline Osander, Laolaltă for hosting us and to Queer Café , Shape Robotics, FLYONE for their help and support.
