We can help with:
■ Transferring money for your return journey
■ Issuing a temporary passport
■ Contacting a legal representative if you are arrested
■ Contacting relatives in Denmark
■ Contacting your insurance company in the event of illness, accident or death
■ Providing information about high-risk areas along your route
We cannot:
■ Lend you money or carry out banking transactions
■ Pay out social security benefits or a pension
■ Secure your release from prison or pay your legal representative
■ Pay hospital or doctor’s fees
■ Find you a job or a work permit
Outside office hours
If your situation is critical and you call the Embassy/Consulate outside normal working hours, you will be transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen. The call is free of charge.
You can also contact the local police and ask for help.
We recommend that, before you leave home, you make a note of the address and telephone number of the Danish Embassy in Lisbon or a Danish consulate in Portugal or Cape Verde.
