The Ambassador's Welcome

It was with great joy and pride that I took up the post of Ambassador of Denmark to Romania on 1 August 2026.

The Embassy's primary task is to promote Danish interests in Romania and strengthen the bilateral relationship. We stand ready to provide swift and effective assistance to Danish citizens. At the same time, we aim to strengthen cooperation between Denmark and Romania – politically, economically, commercially, and culturally – for the benefit of both Romanians and Danes.

Politically, the goal is to strengthen political dialogue on issues of mutual interest, both bilaterally and within the framework of the EU and NATO. In the commercial sphere, the Embassy assists Danish companies in establishing themselves in Romania, selling products, developing their business, and finding partners in the Romanian market. More than 600 Danish companies are currently active in Romania. They have created more than 10,000 jobs in the country. However, we are confident that there is even greater potential, both for companies already established here and for new Danish companies entering Romania. As the EU's sixth-largest member state, with a population of around 20 million, Romania represents an attractive and exciting market for Danish companies.

In addition, the Embassy seeks to raise awareness of Danish culture and way of life, among other things, with a view to generating greater interest in Danish approaches and solutions to challenges in areas such as clean and sustainable energy, health, logistics, education, digitalisation, and the defence industry, among others.
