From Energy Efficiency to Urban Intelligence

How Connected Street Infrastructure Is Reshaping City Operations

Event

Across Europe, cities and transport authorities are facing increasing pressure to modernise infrastructure, reduce operational costs, improve road safety, and meet ambitious net zero targets. Street lighting and connected urban infrastructure are emerging as important entry points for smarter and more data-driven city operations.

This seminar brings together perspectives from UK cities, Danish public sector stakeholders, and innovative Danish solution providers to explore how intelligent infrastructure and real-time urban data can support more efficient, connected, and sustainable urban environments.

A key focus will be how connected street lighting infrastructure can deliver far more than energy savings. As connected lighting networks are progressively being rolled out across UK cities, they present an opportunity to create a powerful urban data layer that can support smarter mobility, improved road safety, AI-driven analytics, and more efficient city operations. The session will explore how cities can unlock additional value from existing infrastructure investments, using real-time data to accelerate progress towards both net zero and Vision Zero ambitions.
