Taking the Denmark's Green Transition Global through the FAO Global Roadmap

Event

The global transition to low-emission agrifood systems requires multi-stakeholder governance and scalable models that countries can adapt to their own contexts. The FAO Global Roadmap proposes an evidence-based and practical framework to guide this transformation, emphasising the need for coherent policies aligned with climate action.

Denmark, one of the leading countries behind the FAO Global Roadmap, offers one of the world’s most advanced examples of a national green transition model built on social dialogue and shared responsibility. The Green Tripartite Agreement - a formal collaboration between the government, private sector, and civil society organisations - creates a unified platform for designing and implementing climate and agricultural policies.

As countries seek to accelerate their own transitions, Denmark’s experience can become a replicable and adaptable model for aligning climate action with the transformation of agrifood systems.

The discussion at this event, as well as the following reception, co-organised by FAO, Food Nation, UN Foundation, and Future Food Institute, will bring together policymakers, private sector leaders, civil society representatives, and farmers to discuss how national green transition models - starting with Denmark - can inspire and inform policy innovation in other regions.
