If your company would like to export food to the UK, there are several things you need know after Brexit.
Brexit – what does it mean for potential exporters?
There have been significant changes since the UK withdrew from the EU on January 1st 2021. For example, changes can be seen in relation to trade in food, animal products and by-products. Although we feared the worst about the many changes, Danish exports still travel across the North Sea and have actually increased since Brexit.
However, Brexit still entails some changes for Danish companies – and especially for food companies.
Here are some points to pay attention to:
Many of the new rules mentioned above were created in connection with the new model for border control – called The Border Target Operating Model (BTOM). It was established in 2023 and will be implemented in several phases.
