Commercial Advisor for business development and market entry in Flensburg 

As a Commercial Advisor, you will be part of a diverse team of advisors at the Danish missions in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, as well as the Hague and Brussels. We identify possibilities for Danish business by monitoring and analysing current market trends and presenting business opportunities to Danish companies. Through your counselling you can take part in securing that companies gain new knowledge, and a strong foothold in the market, with specific focus on the German speaking region.

Germany is Denmark’s largest trading partner, and one of the first export markets for Danish SMEs. The role as commercial advisor will be to assist a large number of primarily Danish SMEs wanting to enter the German market, by researching, analysing and providing information, and on that background develop strategies. Furthermore, Flensburg stands as a symbol of the strong Danish-German connection and business partnership, marking the first market entry in Schleswig-Holstein and benefiting from the regions’ shared cultural heritage. • Starting point for Danish SME’s to support their internationalisation journey in the German market.
• Coordinating activities and being the intermediary between Danish companies and German partners. Building a professional network by identifying and establishing contact with relevant German stakeholders.
• Gathering, analysing and presenting information relevant to various sectors.
• Taking part in developing ideas and export strategies for Danish companies.
• Organizing activities, i.e., conferences and delegation trips to Germany/Denmark, incl. workshops.
• Planning and setting up business meetings and company visits in Germany and Denmark.

• You have a relevant commercial education or background.
• You have an interest in Germany and the German market and a strong willingness tokeep up with current market trends.
• An interest in German and Danish diplomatic trade relations and cultural ties.
• You can quickly understand and analyse new topics, and present them in a meaningful way.
• You are business oriented and have a good understanding of internationalisation.
• You possess good team working skills but can also work well independently.
• You can establish close and systematic customer relations through the entire process - from proactive sales to execution. Including strategic cases.
• You can act self-motivated and able to operate effectively without constant guidance, maintaining productivity and quality.
• Knowledge of the German language as well as an open mind towards improving German language skills is expected. English (orally and written) is granted, and knowledge of a Scandinavian language is a plus.

• You will be hired on a local contract as a “Commercial Advisor” at the Danish Consulate General in Flensburg on a two-year contract, with the possibility of extension.
• Starting date is 1st of May/June 2026 or as soon as possible after security clearance.
• Your standard working hours are 37 hours per week, including a paid lunch break.
