MINISTER OF DEFENCE JEPPE BRUUS MEETS PRESIDENT ZELENSKY IN KYIV

Minister of Defence Jeppe Bruus’  met with the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Minister of Defence Mykhailo Fedorov, among others.

“I am in Ukraine to underline that Denmark remains fully committed to supporting Ukraine. Denmark’s defence begins in Ukraine, and Ukrainians are fighting every day for our shared security. Ukraine is a key partner in developing the defence of the future. Experiences from the front line and from the defence of Ukraine’s major cities provide valuable insights into modern warfare,” says Jeppe Bruus, highlighting the strong cooperation, which was reflected in the meeting between the President and the Minister of Defence.

Minister of Defence Jeppe Bruus also visited drone actors in Ukraine, gaining insight into Ukraine’s use of drones on the battlefield, before visiting a number of companies in the Ukrainian defence industry.

The Danish Minister of Defence, Jeppe Bruus, also met with Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov, and Deputy Minister of Defence, Serhii Boyev, to discuss Ukraine’s military needs and the next steps for the strategic defence equipment initiative Build With Ukraine.

Central to the Build With Ukraine initiative is that Ukrainian companies establish themselves outside Ukraine, thereby strengthening Ukrainian supply security and creating opportunities for technology transfer and cooperation between Ukrainian and European companies.

“Ukraine has shown the way, particularly when it comes to fresh thinking and high-tech innovation that can quickly be translated into large-scale production of cost-effective military capabilities. We should draw inspiration from this and work to establish a similarly structured and ambitious cooperation between the Danish Armed Forces and research and production environments in Denmark,” says Jeppe Bruus.
