The overall vision for Denmark’s engagement in Somalia for the period 2024-2028 is to support a more stable, inclusive prosperous and resilient Somalia addressing root causes of instability, poverty, vulnerability, and inequality in line with Somalia’s National Development Plan.

Denmark's development aid for Somalia is channelled through the Somalia Country Strategic Framework 2024-2028, which revolves around three strategic objectives:

1. Ensure adaptation to climate change through equitable access to resources and enabling inclusive and green growth.
2. Promote stability and security, inclusive state-building and protection of human rights.
3. Strengthen resilience and address the root causes of displacement and migration.

Denmark’s overall priorities of strengthening democracy and civil society, promoting human rights, and ensuring the inclusion of women and youth cut across all objectives.
