Uganda

Denmark’s engagement in Uganda 2023–2028 aims to:

1. Promote a green, sustainable, and inclusive economic transformation
2. Promote sustainable and durable solutions for refugees and support Uganda’s stabilising role in the region
3. Strengthen democratic values, protection of human rights and civic space

Uganda plays a central role as a regional stabiliser and as a host country for over 1.9 million refugees. Denmark supports these efforts through cooperation with national authorities, civil society, and international partners.

The engagement builds on previous achievements and is closely coordinated with the EU, UN, and other partners to ensure effective implementation and long-term development.
