Denmark in the EU

Denmark has been an active member of the EU since 1973. Denmark has worked for an efficient and well functioning internal market, transparent decision-making, and clear and visible results for the individual citizens.

 

The Danish Presidency of the EU

Denmark held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from 1 July – 31 December 2025. The Presidency was held under the slogan “A strong Europe in a changing world” where Denmark worked for a secure Europe as well as a competitive and green Europe.
