Apostille and Legalization of Vietnamese documents
If you wish to use a Vietnamese public document in Denmark, you may need to have it apostilled or legalized.
Apostille is a certification issued under the Hague Apostille Convention. It confirms that a document was issued or signed by the proper authority. It does not confirm the content of the document.
Legalization is a process that confirms the authenticity of a signature and/or stamp on a public document. Like an apostille, it does not verify the content of the document. The Danish Embassy in Vietnam can only legalize official documents issued by the competent Vietnamese authorities, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, certificates of marital status, divorce decisions, and other relevant official documents, once they have been legalized by the Vietnamese authorities.
