The Protocol Department

The Protocol Department covers responsibilities related to diplomatic missions and international organisations. The Protocol Department is responsible for diplomatic accreditation and issues related to diplomatic stay in Denmark. The Protocol Department provides support to official visits hosted by the Prime Minister, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Minister for Development Cooperation.

Foreign missions, consulates and international organisations in Denmark 

  

The Protocol Department consists of the visiting team, the diplomatic team and the team on cross cutting tasks concerning diplomats and diplomatic relations.

 

Visiting team: Official visits and special events. State visits and matters related to the Royal Court, including the Royal Court’s travels abroad, the administration and representation of the Protocol. The Protocol is responsible for the practical organisation and execution of foreign visits to Denmark hosted by the Prime Minister, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Minister for Development Cooperation. 

 

Diplomatic team: Takes care of the contact to foreign embassies and international organisations and assists in practical matters. The diplomatic team performs the registration of employees of diplomatic missions accredited to Denmark and international organisations in Denmark. The diplomatic team also handles matters of honorary consuls in Denmark.
