Mapping and analysis of the interlinkages between gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and climate change and climate change and education (Desk Study)

Description:
The purpose of the desk study is 1) to provide an overview of key data and research in the intersection of climate change and development in the areas of gender equality, SRHR, and education. The intent is to ensure that, as the MFA develops its policy and programme portfolio in this area, it is done on a solid knowledge base and that efforts build on lessons learned as well as objective information and data; and 2) to provide an overview of key stakeholders engaged in this area of work as well as good practice programmes and policies that the MFA can be inspired by in its effort to take solid programmes to scale.

The objective of the assignment is in short to provide the MFA with an overview of existing evidence based knowledge in the climate change-development intersection, and provide a mapping of donors and partners’ positions and best practices.

The main part of the assignment will consist of undertaking analytical work. The following three main elements should be included in the analysis:
1) Situational analysis, 2) Mapping of positions by donors and partners, and 3) Mapping of interventions and best practices by other donors and partners.

The completion of the assignment is estimated to involve approximately 60 working days. The budget to include fees and reimbursable and audit costs. The assignment is expected to start end of November 2023 and last for approximately 2,5 months. The tentative deadline is end of February 2024. Timing of milestones to be agreed with the consultant.
