Guidelines and information for diplomats in Denmark
Foreign missions, consulates and international organisations in Denmark
The Protocol Department consists of the visiting section, the diplomatic section and the section on cross cutting tasks concerning diplomats and diplomatic relations.
Visiting section: Official visits and special events. State visits and matters related to the Royal Court, including the Royal Court’s travels abroad, the administration and representation of the Protocol. The Protocol is responsible for the practical organisation and execution of foreign visits to Denmark hosted by the Prime Minister, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Minister for Development Cooperation.
Diplomatic section: Takes care of the contact to foreign embassies and international organisations and assists in practical matters. The diplomatic section performs the registration of employees of diplomatic missions accredited to Denmark and international organisations in Denmark. The diplomatic section also handles matters of honorary consuls in Denmark.
