Commercial effects of Danish development assistance

Over the years, there has been much discussion of Danish development assistance’s expected side-effects in the form of commercial benefits to Danish firms. Danish development assistance’s objectives are mainly poverty reduction and human rights, but the prospect that it might benefit sales or investments by Danish firms has regularly been highlighted as one of the advantages to Danish society of providing development assistance.
