Advance voting abroad for the elections to the European Parliament in Denmark

On Sunday 9 June 2024, the elections for the European Parliament will be held in Denmark. If you vote abroad, you can cast your vote from three months before the election day, i.e. from Saturday 9 March 2024.

Who can vote?

To be eligible to vote you must on election day

  • have the right to vote for the Danish Parliament or
  • be a Danish citizen, have reached the age of 18 and have permanent residence in one of the other EU member states, or
  • be a citizen of one of the other EU member states, have reached the age of 18 and have permanent residence in Denmark or be registered in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' protocol (EU diplomats) or
  • be a Danish citizen, have reached the age of 18 and have permanent residence in Denmark.

 

How to vote

You can cast your vote at any Danish embassy or consulate in the country where you are staying. Remember to bring valid identification (passport, driver's license, etc.) Find Danish embassies and consulates here.

If you vote abroad, you must do so in time for the vote to arrive at your municipality in Denmark before the elections open on Sunday 9 June 2024 at 9 am.

If you live abroad, your vote will only count if you are enrolled in the electoral register or will be enrolled in the electoral register for the elections for European Parliament.
