In 2008, Denmark entered into the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with China. The Partnership provides a framework for cooperation between China and Denmark. The Strategic Partnership was the beginning of the strategic sector cooperation, which has been further expanded and forms the cornerstone of the bilateral relationship.
Building on the Strategic Partnership, Denmark and China launched a Green Joint Work Programme for 2023-2026. A former work programme lasted from 2017-2020.
A substantial area of focus in the partnership between China and Denmark is sustainable green cooperation across all sectors. Therefore, the new work programme focuses on a number of areas, where Denmark and China agree to strengthen the cooperation. That includes, inter alia:

• Maritime
• Food and agriculture
• Health
