When travelling from Mexico and our accredited countries to Denmark with a cat, dog or ferret the following documentation is required:

As a consequence of the avian influenza situation, the import of all species of birds, apart from poultry, which are kept as pets and are accompanying their owner, are not permitted. However, it is permitted to import less than 6 live birds, if the birds fulfil certain conditions.

Other pet animals than dogs, cats, ferrets and birds are:
Five or less pet animals from the above mentioned groups may freely be imported to Denmark for non-commercial purposes.

Be aware that other animals than the above mentioned group might be affected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). CITES is an international agreement between Governments which has the aim of ensuring that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.
The authorities in Denmark should be contacted well in advance of departure to ensure that the provisions of the competent authorities are complied with.
