The Danish Embassy is Looking for a Driver and Handyperson

The Royal Danish Embassy in the Netherlands is looking for a reliable and versatile person to fill the position of driver and handyperson to take care of the driving of the embassy staff as well as light maintenance of the chancellery's facilities and the official residence. 

 

Position: Driver and handyperson

Type of employment: 10-15 hours a week, 1 year contract with the possibility of extension

Starting date: 1 October 2026 or soon thereafter

Location: Danish Embassy in The Hague

Deadline for application: 23 August 2026

Main tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Driving and logistics: Drive Embassy vehicle for local travel, deliveries and staff transport
  • Ensure that embassy vehicle is clean, refuelled and that basic safety checks are done
  • Manage maintenance requests, report anomalies, carry out minor repairs, and coordinate repairs
  • Monitor maintenance contacts and interventions by external suppliers (technicians, cleaning companies, etc.)
  • Perform other tasks as required

Profile and Qualifications

  • Valid driving licence and proven experience with professional driving
  • Experience as a handyperson
  • Reliability, punctuality and flexibility 
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Fluency in Dutch and English. Knowledge of one of the Scandinavian languages is considered an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of IT tools (Word, Excel, email)

Employment Conditions

  • We offer a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension
  • Your standard working hours will be 10-15 hours per week. The working time will vary according the needs of the season and occasionally, additional hours should be expected. 
  • Your salary will reflect your responsibility, tasks and previous experience
