It is a great honour and privilege for me to serve as the Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan - and to be representing Denmark in a country of remarkable resilience, diversity, and potential. I am pleased to have taken up this role at a time when Denmark and Pakistan are enjoying long-standing relations, built on mutual respect, cooperation, and a shared commitment to addressing global and local challenges.
The partnership between Denmark and Pakistan is comprehensive – in depth and scope. Our two countries have partnered for decades across a wide range of areas, including development cooperation, trade, climate action, humanitarian assistance, cultural and people-to-people exchanges. I am proud to build on this strong foundation and to further deepen our collaboration in ways that are responsive to Pakistan and Denmark’s shared priorities and the rapidly changing global context.
Denmark’s development engagement in Pakistan is guided by the national strategy, A Changing World – Partnerships in Development, which reflects the realities of an increasingly complex and interconnected world. The strategy emphasizes mutually beneficial partnerships, local ownership, and sustainable solutions that deliver lasting impact. In Pakistan, this translates into a strong focus on climate resilience and adaptation, water, green energy transition, inclusive economic development, and support for vulnerable communities. A central priority of Denmark’s engagement is the empowerment of women and children, who play a crucial role in building resilient families, communities, and economies. Denmark remains committed to delivering on its commitments to allocate 0,7 pct. of GNI to ODA.
More than 50 Danish companies are already active in Pakistan and trade relations have seen a steady growth over the past decade. At the Embassy of Denmark Pakistan we see strong potential to further expand cooperation in trade, investment, and private-sector partnerships - especially in areas such as renewable energy, water, agriculture, logistics, life sciences and tech.
The Embassy of Denmark in Pakistan works in close partnership with Pakistani institutions, civil society organizations, the private sector, international partners, and the Danish companies in Pakistan. I firmly believe that meaningful and lasting progress is best achieved through collaboration, dialogue, and trust.
I look forward to engaging with partners across Pakistan and to further strengthening the bonds and friendship between our two countries in the years ahead.
