Danida Sustainable Infrastructure Finance - DSIF

Danida Sustainable Infrastructure Finance is a facility funded by DANIDA and managed by the Danish Investment Fund for Developing Countries - IFU. The facility provides access to finance for sustainable infrastructure projects in developing countries tied to transfer of technology and knowhow through Danish companies.

 

The overall development objective of the cooperation is to contribute to create sustainable local development in Pakistan in line with national priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Projects must be in line with the development strategies and sector plans of the recipient country, create sustainable growth and employment and deliver measurable results toward the Sustainable Development Goals.

 

SDG Facility

The SDG facility is intended as a flexible instrument, allowing the Danish Embassy to respond to opportunities by supporting clearly defined, strategically important development initiatives in Pakistan. Any supported activity must have, as its main objective, the promotion of economic and social development of the population of Pakistan. Types of activities that can be supported include:

  • Workshops, trainings, seminars, conferences, studies and cultural events.
  • Travel expenses (economy class) for local partners (government officials/civil servants/civil society representatives) for participation in strategically important local/international meetings.

With priority given to locally anchored partners, the Danish Embassy can conclude agreements on activities with the following partners:

  • National authorities, i.e. authorities of national and local governments, as well as semi-governmental bodies, (public universities, public research institutes, public utilities etc.);
  • Local non-profit civil society organisations, i.e. NGOs, associations, research institutes, foundations, etc. The organisation must be rooted in the country concerned, i.e. its registered office and activities are in the country. As a general rule, in order to be eligible for support, the organisation should have been in existence for at least one year, articles of association must have been drawn up for the organisation, and its accounts be subject to audit;
  • International organisations, i.e. international and multilateral development organisations;
  • Danish authorities, i.e. governmental institutions, including ministries and governmental agencies and semi-governmental bodies (public universities, public health sector institutions, public research institutes, etc.)
  • Local representations of Danish NGOs and Danish civil society organisations, i.e. associations, research institutes, foundations, etc.

Private companies and individuals are not eligible for support.
