EES

The European Union’s Entry/Exit System (EES) has been in operation since 12 October 2025. The EES is an automated IT-system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders of Schengen. ETIAS

The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is a new travel authorisation for visa-exempt non-EU nationals travelling to Europe. It is expected to start operating in the last quarter of 2026. The European Union will inform about the specific date for the start of ETIAS prior to its launch.
