How to read a sticker (Thai)

When submitting an application for residence- and work permit, a fee is to be paid to both the Danish Immigration Services, the Danish embassy, and to the Visa Application Centre. These fees are liable to change without prior notice and are non-refundable.

(1) To the Danish Immigration Service (DIS)

This fee is to be paid online directly to DIS prior to lodging the application with a Danish mission, and covers the Danish Immigration Services' case processing of the application.

(2) To the Danish Embassy in Bangkok

All Danish diplomatic missions have a service fee that covers the embassy's involvement in the expedition and processing of the residence- and work permit application, as well as issuance of the visa-sticker, if applicable.

The embassy fee should be paid online here.

Please note: you will need to print the receipt for this payment and that the fees are non-refundable irrespective of the decision reached by the Danish Immigration Service. The fees will not be refunded if the application is unsuccessful.

(3) To the Visa Application Centre (VFS)

When you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics at the Visa Application Centre (VFS), it is important that you bring the printed receipt from the payment made to the embassy. All fees must be paid to the three institutions, respectively, in order for your application to be processed accordingly.

When should the embassy be contacted in regards to re-entry permits?

• When you have lost your Danish residence card, your passport, or both.
• When you have been issued a new passport in connection with name change and you do not have your old passport with you.
• When your passport is renewed and you do not have your old passport with you.

Please be aware that in order for the embassy to issue a re-entry permit to Denmark, we need to request authorisation from the Danish Immigration Services in Denmark. This process can take up to 6 weeks and we therefore urge applicants to apply as soon as possible.

Payment must be made before coming to the embassy.

If you are a crew member and need your passport to work during the processing time, please submit Employment Letter and Crew Schedule Slip. Crew members’ families must apply at least 15 days before planned departure as all other applicants.

Children under 18, who follow their mother’s residence permit, should ensure that they have a re-entry permit stamped into their passport BEFORE they exit Denmark, otherwise they will not be able to re-enter the country again.
The Danish Immigration Service issues these re-entry permits (alternatively they can refer to the nearest issuing office).

If the child does not get a stamp in his/her passport before leaving Denmark, the child must contact the embassy via phone or e-mail as soon as possible after arriving in Thailand. The Embassy will then contact the Danish Immigration Service to confirm whether or not a re-entry permit can be issued. 

Please note that this process can take up to 6 weeks.
