Commercial Advisor – Defence Industry

As part of our team, you will be a driving force behind German and Danish defence industry collaboration. We work closely with the Embassy’s political defence department and colleagues within Invest in Denmark and the innovation centre in Munich. Furthermore, you will join a larger region consisting of Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Lichtenstein, where defence industries and resilience are taking up a growing share of trade activities at the missions.

Your core task is creating and pursuing opportunities for Danish companies in Germany. This means building awareness about projects in both countries, giving feedback to Danish companies on their approach and matching people and projects.

You will be based in Berlin and work closely with colleagues across our regional network which spans Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Flensburg, Brussels, and The Hague.

• Identifying partnership opportunities between Danish companies and German stakeholders
• Developing and executing market intelligence projects
• Organizing events, workshops, and delegation visits
• Identifying and engaging key stakeholders in Germany with the purpose of expanding our network and strengthening Danish-German collaboration

• 3 – 5 years of work experience in business development, project management, consulting or sales within a complex technology organisation and/or defence industry
• Experience from a customer facing or service job
• The ability to strike up a conversation with people you don’t know
• Empathy and understanding for the needs and moods of a team and your role in it
• Humility and honesty around your own limitations
• Fluency in German, Danish or another Scandinavian language is also an advantage
• A natural curiosity about technology trends and security policy
• Humour

• Standard working hours are 37 hours per week, including a 30-minute lunch break

Practical information

• Location: Berlin
• Expected start: From October 2026 and onwards (depending on openings and pending security clearance) 
• Travel within Germany and to Denmark is to be expected
• The employment is subject to a security clearance by the Danish authorities
