New passport
The Danish Embassy in Budapest cannot issue biometrical passports and refers to other embassies. The nearest being the Danish Embassy in Vienna.
Passport for children
The Danish Embassy in Budapest can issue passports for children under 12 years of age.
Extension of passport
The Danish Embassy in Budapest can extend passports and issue emergency passports.
You can only extend your passport if it has expired within the last 3 months. A passport can only be extended once and for a maximum of 12 months. It is recommended that you ensure that the authorities at the destination approve extended passports. If your passport expired more than 3 months ago, you must be issued an emergency (provisional) passport.
Emergency passport
An emergency passport is only issued, with validity for the period necessary in relation to the duration of the trip, as well as regulations in the countries you are travelling through before returning to Denmark. An emergency passport is handed to Borgerservice after use and when applying for a new passport. It is recommended that the applicant ensures that the authorities at the destination approve emergency passports.
