Visa (short stay visa)
It is not possible to apply for a visa at the Danish Embassy or Consulate in Bosnia and Herzegovina. If you wish to apply for a visa, please refer to a Danish Visa Application Centre, VFS Global, in the region, e.g. in Serbia.
Residence and work permit (long stay visa)
It is not possible to apply for a visa at the Danish Embassy or Consulate in Bosnia and Herzegovina. If you wish to apply for a residence permit, please refer to a Danish Visa Application Centre, VFS Global, in the region, e.g. in Serbia.
The Embassy can assist Danish citizens in need of urgent consular assistance, e.g., in case of lost or expired passports.
Please note that the Embassy in Sarajevo cannot issue biometric passports. Adults and children over the age of 12 who wish to apply for an ordinary Danish passport should contact another Danish Diplomatic Mission in the region, e.g., the Embassy in Belgrade, where biometric passports can be issued. Alternatively, you can apply to renew your passport during a visit to Denmark by contacting the Borgerservice (Citizen Service Centre) in any municipality.
Children below the age of 12 can apply for an ordinary passport at the Embassy in Sarajevo.
The Embassy in Sarajevo can assist with issuing emergency passports or with extending the validity of an existing passport on condition that the passport has expired less than three months ago. Please find more information on um.dk.
