The aim of the city cooperation is to improve resilience to climate change, improve quality of life and for cities to become cleaner and more efficient in their use of resources. This will be aimed at by working in thematic areas as requested by partner cities within:
Sustainable urban planning with focus on climate adaptation, mainly green surface water management and green mobility for pedestrians and bicycles
Sustainable resource management; with subthemes: Energy efficiency in buildings, wastewater, water supply, and waste management.
Just transition and green jobs creation.

City of Aarhus
The city-city cooperation aims to strengthen framework conditions and institutional capacity of partner authorities to promote climate adaptation and resilience in cities through comprehensive urban water management by building on Danish expertise and solutions with a focus on water related challenges

The educational sector cooperation aims to strengthening the relevance, quality and responsiveness of vocational education. The project will increase the skills level within the concerned industries by improving vocational training, preparing students for the demands of the job market.

The Danish Energy Agency share the experience of 50 years of the green transition in Denmark in peer-to-peer cooperation with energy authorities in partner countries. Our cooperation is focused on long term planning for cost efficient development of the energy sector supported by effective and efficient regulations and policy frame works. We share the best Danish experience in the areas of:
- Long term energy planning based on scenario modelling
- Integration of renewable energy in the energy system
- Conducive regulation and conditions for on-shore and off-shore wind power
- Energy efficiency in industry and buildings
- District heating

The food and agricultural sector cooperation aim to promote a socially just, inclusive and green transition in food production systems, and to reduce climate effects through stronger legislative frameworks and increased institutional capacity of partner authorities by:
- Addressing food loss and waste, incl. food and feed safety and hygiene.
- Promoting agroecology and organic production methods, including development of its foundation in form of a credible and effective government system for food, feed, animal health and veterinary control.
- Addressing: One Health, including AMR and animal health.

Health
The health sector cooperation aims to enable partner countries to increasingly ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages in three thematic areas:
- Coherent, efficient and quality healthcare services for non-communicable diseases (NCDs),
- regulation of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and
- combatting health threats from infectious diseases and AMR.
Within these three focus areas the programme contributes to the longer-term improvement of framework conditions and increased ambitions of partner institutions in relation to SDG 3 and equitable universal access to healthcare.

intellectual property rights (IPR)
The sector cooperation on IPR aims to enhance the capacity related to protection and enforcement of IPR in the partnering countries. A well-functioning IPR infrastructure contributes to innovation and technology exchange and paves the way for more investments, leading to economic development and job creation. The cooperation focuses on three thematic areas:
- IPR protection
- IPR enforcement
- Proper utilization of the IP system among SMEs

The maritime sector cooperation aims to strengthened framework conditions conducive for green and safe shipping in three thematic areas:
- Emission reductions and pollution from the maritime sector
- Safety for ships, seafarers and fishermen
- Efficient shipping and maritime governance

Meteorology (DMI)
The meteorology sector cooperation with Ghana aims at developing the capacity of Ghana Meteorological Agency to provide timely and relevant weather and climate services that serves to protect lives and livelihoods. The cooperation between Gmet and DMI:
- Develops a Climate Atlas for Ghana
- Builds a sustainable meteorology training structure
- Strengthens Gmet’s capacity to understand and act on political and stakeholder needs

The goal of the Statistics Sector Cooperation is to strengthen National Statistical Offices and, more broadly, the National Statistical System in partner countries, enhancing their capacity to consistently produce reliable and credible data. This, in turn, will provide a solid foundation for informed decision-making, efficient resource allocation, and effective intervention monitoring for decision-makers, implementers, and key development actors in partner countries. Additionally, it will ensure transparency and accountability, benefiting both policymakers and the general public.
The thematic focus areas, besides strengthening the National Statistical Offices and the National Statistical System in general, are:
- Digitalization of statistical processes
- Enhancing the capacity to use more administrative data in combination with survey data
- Improve statistical frameworks and systems to support a just green transition

working environment
The sector cooperation on working environment aims to improve the health and safety of workers as stated in ILO’s Decent Work agenda and SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Countries: Bangladesh
