Through the system you can have a follow‑up dialogue with the whistle‑blower unit. This dialogue can also remain anonymous. However, in order to ascertain that your report falls under the remit of the whistleblower mechanism, it is normally required to establish your identity. Furthermore, in some cases an investigation cannot be done without the whistleblower team knowing your identity. However, your identity will always be kept confidential and not shared with anyone outside the whistleblower team without your express permission.
The Ministry’s whistle‑blower unit is housed within the Department of Internal Control and Oversight , and only the authorised caseworkers within that unit have access to your report.
If you submit information to the whistle‑blower mechanism from a computer that is on the Ministry’s network, or via the link to the digital whistle‑blower portal on the Ministry’s website, the activity may be recorded as part of the normal logging of user activity on the Ministry’s network. This can be avoided by entering the web address (https://um.sit‑wb.dk/) in a browser on a private or public computer that is not connected to the Ministry’s network.
