Staff Changes in Protocol Department

From 1 September 2021: Chiefs of Protocol

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Protocol Department, presents its compliments to all Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to Denmark, International Organisations and Other Missions resident in Copenhagen and Honorary Consulates in Denmark and has the honour to convey the following information:

The Danish government has appointed Ambassador Michael Zilmer-Johns Chairman of a high-level group of national officials tasked to conduct a thorough analysis of developments in the global security environment and its consequences for the Kingdom of Denmark and Danish Defence in order to provide a solid foundation for the next Defence Agreement from 2024 onwards. The report of the group shall be ready in the first quarter of 2022. 

In order to enable Ambassador Zilmer-Johns to focus on this task, Ambassador Ove Ullerup will be acting Chief of Protocol from 1 September 2021 to 31 March 2022. Ambassador Zilmer-Johns will remain in charge of all questions concerning the Royal Family and the Court as well as the Honorary Consuls during these seven months.
